Cookies Policy

Last updated September 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar storage this website uses, why each item exists, how long it lasts, and how you can control it. Pathmark Energy keeps this marketing site deliberately light: we do not run advertising networks. Read this together with the Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar tools are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your computer or phone. Related technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixels — can keep a simple setting or help a form complete securely. Some cookies last only while the tab is open (session cookies). Others remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).

First-party tools are set by pathmarkenergy.com. Third-party tools are set by another organisation whose service we use, such as a form processor or a font host. On this site the important distinction is between storage that makes the pages work and storage that would be used for advertising. We do not use the second kind today.

Cookies are not programs. They cannot install software. They can, however, remember a preference or help a vendor recognise a browser across a short sequence of requests. That is why we describe them plainly here.

2. How Pathmark Energy uses them

We operate an institutional marketing site, not a consumer marketplace. There is no shopping basket, no login, and no advertising exchange. The storage we use is limited to three jobs: remember your light or dark theme, deliver the assessment form, and keep the connection stable.

We do not run Google Analytics, Meta pixels, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok tags, or similar remarketing tools on these pages. We do not sell audiences. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and we will describe the new tool by name.

Name / typeWho sets itPurposeDuration
pathmark-themePathmark Energy (local storage)Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode so the header and pages do not flash the opposite theme on the next visit.Until you clear site data
Form delivery cookiesFormspreeHelp deliver the assessment POST, reduce automated abuse, and keep the submission associated with that request. They are not used by us to advertise.Set by Formspree; typically session or short-lived
Hosting / securitySite host or content networkMay set strictly necessary cookies or equivalent headers to route traffic, absorb a spike, or block a hostile request.Session or short-lived
Font request cacheGoogle Fonts (Material Symbols)The icon font is loaded from Google's font service. That request may allow Google to see that a browser asked for the file. We do not send them your form fields.Controlled by Google Fonts

The table is the list we intend to operate. A browser extension or a corporate proxy may add its own cookies that we do not set and cannot document.

3. Cookie categories

Strictly necessary. These are required for the site to load, to remember the theme you already chose, and to send an assessment request through Formspree. Without them the pages still read, but the form may fail and the colour scheme may reset. Nigerian and international practice generally treats this class as essential. You can still delete them in the browser.

Preferences. The only preference tool we set ourselves is pathmark-theme in local storage. It stores the values light or dark. It is not a unique advertising identifier and it is not sent to Formspree with the form. Clearing it returns the site to light mode, which is the default.

Analytics. We do not currently set analytics cookies. We do not measure funnel conversion with a third-party tag. Server logs used for security are not used to profile you as a person.

Advertising and social. We do not currently set advertising, retargeting, or social-share tracking cookies. There is no cookie banner asking you to "accept all" because we are not dropping that class of cookie. If we add one, we will say so on this page before it goes live.

4. Formspree and the assessment form

When you press "Request Assessment", the browser sends the field values to Formspree so our engineering desk can read them. That POST is a transfer of personal data. It is described in the Privacy Policy. Formspree may set cookies on its own domain as part of receiving and protecting the submission (for example to distinguish a person from a script).

If you block third-party cookies entirely, the form may appear to hang or may show an error. In that case you can email the same information to info@pathmarkenergy.com or call 070-72846275. The legal pages and project case studies remain readable with cookies disabled.

5. How to manage cookies

You control cookies and local storage in the browser. The labels differ slightly by product, but the idea is the same: open Settings, find Privacy or Cookies, and delete data for pathmarkenergy.com, or block third-party cookies. After you clear pathmark-theme, reload the page; it will start in light mode until you toggle it again.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data (or Safari → Settings → Privacy on macOS).

Private or incognito windows usually drop cookies when the window closes. Browser extensions that block trackers are compatible with this site; they may, however, interfere with Formspree. Mobile operating systems have a separate "limit ad tracking" switch. Because we do not advertise here, that switch does not change what we set.

We do not currently respond to a "Do Not Track" signal with a separate code path, because we are not running a tracker that DNT would turn off. If we add analytics, we will document how DNT and similar signals are treated.

6. Cookies and personal data

Theme storage, on its own, is not information that identifies you. The words you type into the assessment form are personal data (and often commercial data about an estate). Formspree receives that submission so we can reply. Hosting logs may include an IP address for a short period. Those uses are explained in the Privacy Policy, including your rights of access, correction, and complaint to the NDPC.

We do not join the theme preference to your name. We do not build a cross-site profile. We do not enrich form fields with data purchased from a broker.

7. Updates and questions

If we add an analytics product, a cookie banner, a chat widget, or another processor that sets cookies, we will revise this policy and the "Last updated" date before that tool is enabled on the live site. Historical versions can be requested from the engineering desk for a transaction file.

Questions about cookies or this policy can be sent to info@pathmarkenergy.com or by calling 070-PATHMARK (070-72846275). Write from the address you used on a form if you are asking us to delete a related record.
